Stuck in a boring job?
Guess what!
So am I.
I think most of us are. It's just the select few who actually enjoy their work life. Well, to be honest, all of us are pretty greedy for more aren't we? There is nothing in this world that can satisfy our needs.
You get a promotion, you aim for more promotions. You get a hike in salary, you aim for better salary, by jumping from company to company or from position to position.
We're all searching for the best of everything to live an easy and a normal life with a better status in the society, looking up to people who we think have already attained it in their life.
Well newsflash! These so-called "over-achievers" are just like you. They are looking for more, always looking up to someone else or searching for better answers to their problems with all that they have and are still not content. Do not be deceived!
Let me share with you something that I've learnt from my past experiences. Instead of looking up to someone in this world to achieve a better status in society, why don't you for once, look around you. There are so many people looking up to YOU! Have you ever noticed that? When is the last time you gave a word of encouragement for an aspiring Musician, Entrepreneur, Astronaut or a Teacher?
Have you ever stopped to wonder if you have made an impact in the life of someone else? Have you, through your life, taught someone to be content with what they have?
We are all designed to work and earn for our living. That is how God created us. He created man and placed him in the garden of Eden "to dress it and to keep it" (Genesis 2:15). But with sin came the hardships of life. So you may blame sin for the "boring job" you seem to be "stuck" in.
But there is a way out!
Be faithful in what you do now, and God will bring to pass the best of the best for you in the near future. Do not expect it on earth though, because the world will never really satisfy you. Look forward to the coming Kingdom and strive to save up your treasures in Heaven by being a person upon whom many people look up to, especially with regards to patience, satisfaction, faith and endurance.
Joel Jacob was an ambitious child as he was growing up. He wanted to be many things in life, such as, a Pilot, an Astronaut, a Doctor, a successful Businessman and the best Musician in the world. But Joel didn't study well and he is bad at math. Currently he encourages others to achieve what he couldn't and gives advises which backfires many times.
Don't be like Joel.
Be like Jesus Christ!
